Failure Analysis

The purpose of failure analysis is to study the failure behaviors of a material, or in a macro-scale sense the failure pattern of a component under some extreme loading cases or impact. Different failure behaviors occur in different materials and under different loading conditions, depending on the design target determination. During the design process, failure analysis gives the concepts of material/component strength for engineers to improve the liability of the design.
